Where sailing pleasure meets high-performance motor technology

It is not visible from the outside, but its performance is clearly noticeable: The trend line of fixed pod motors has everything a sailor’s heart desires. A high-tech motor system, a flow-optimized lightweight aluminum housing, a highly efficient propeller on a stable motor shaft, and a vibration-damping balance plate for maximum propulsion. In short, a motor that is second to none.

Trend 8.0FM

Fixed Pod Motor Trend

The highly efficient motor operates brushless at low speeds. This ensures a significant amount of power is silently transferred to the robust stainless steel shaft. Motors with minimal drag provide optimal flow to the propeller. Thanks to the specially developed folding propeller design, these motors achieve the highest thrust values, making them market leaders. To ensure the motor delivers maximum possible propulsion, we offer custom-made compensation plates for mounting the motor parallel to the waterline. Additionally, these plates dampen mechanical vibrations and guarantee maximum smooth running.

What power is required?

All motor models are specially designed for sailboats as a calm pusher, but also suitable for smaller motorboats. In order to have sufficient reserves against wind and waves, we recommend the Trend 2.2 for boats up to 2.5 tons, depending on the hull shape, the Trend 4.3 can be used up to 4.0 tons.

Generally, fixed pod motors are positioned between the keel and the rudder. The motor should be closer to the keel than to the rudder. The reason for this is that turbulence can occur behind the propeller, potentially causing vibrations at the rudder. Furthermore, the motor is also in the leeward water of the keel, thus having less drag. Additionally, flange motors should be arranged parallel to the waterline. For this purpose, Aquamot offers custom-made compensation wedges, which simultaneously dampen vibrations.

In general, the drive package includes everything except batteries and charger. From the highly efficient motor including fixed propeller & vibration-damping balance plate, on-board computer and driving switch to driving switch and on/off switch, everything is included. As an option, a folding propeller can be purchased to reduce drag and a custom-made balance wedge to facilitate installation.

The warranty period is 2 years.
